Jesting aside, I'm happy to be a part of this. And too, with the specific direction he wanted for the submission style, it was a very tough story for me to write.
Na -- hard to write a mainstream-seeming SF story. SF/F has a more rigid structure, and strangely, it was harder for me to write up what is essentially a mundane SF with mainstream flavor than a structured hard SF. Writing a sad snapshot of people dealing with an increasingly inhospital climate wasn't the hard thing. But the form -- that's another thing.
