I now have these blogs:

wcouvillier.wordpress.com
wcouvillier.blogspot.com
will_couvillier.insanejournal.com

Created but waiting, just depending on any uncertain upcoming events involving LJ's survival.

I've noticed that a few people are expressing uncertainty about the future of LJ, but honestly, I'm clueless about any of this. What did I miss?

Read this:

Plenty people are covering bases just in case cutting all but 8 people from a dedicated service ends up sending that service into limbo.

Ah, now I see. Thanks for the link!

Yeah and it's all over some LJ blogs, too. I did a full archive (3 years worth) on January 1, so I'm in good shape there. But I did make sure that I have a backup blog reserved on blogger.

(And I have a permanent LJ account!)

Bet they didn't mention that a 'permanent' meant only as long as LJ is 'permanent', did they?

Ah well. With me being on gmail, blogger came easiest. I plan to archive my LJ this afternoon or weekend. It does allow import on bout Blogspot and Wordpress, so I figure I'll import all my old stuff there.

Yoicks! Thanks for the heads-up. I suggest we all put each other's (as we choose, of course) various alternate blog URLs into our Bookmarks or Favorites.

Dang, I hope LJ doesn't vanish. It took me forever to get even as poorly oriented as I am, here.

*mourn* I miss Speculations.

Same here about Speculations.

Hm, thanks for the info. I should do some archiving myself... (sigh) at least archiving of all the illlness-related stuff I've used here to try and help folks!

Oh, in light of the new info I've added a blog into my website, at http://howewriter2000.4t.com. Anyone interested please go over there; it'll be about basically the same stuff as here just more organized (I hope).

Perhaps we need to have a website that just plain lists all of our blog spots.

I tried to "resurrect" by blogspot blog, but I have forgotten the password I used and the email account it is listed under is no longer mine. I now have again-sueo2@blogspot.com as backup and I archived my minimal postings.

One could assemble all the web URLs in a text file, or as live links in a Word Perfect or Wrod document, for their own computer destktop, and then people could just click on the blogs or web sites whenever they wanted...can you tell I'm a pretty primitive web user? lol

Terry, Will, et al:
I have created a very vanilla site to collect information on former Rumor Millers and friends. Here is the link: http://www.geocities.com/ye_olde_rmers

Terry, if you are interested, I will send you password and coding details in the event something happens to me.

Sure, send it along. I'd recommend one other person as well, in case I lose them or something...

Sue, could we put a link to our Writer's Postage Chart on there, too?

http://www.radio-sf.com/writerspostage/

Bob Hole is the host, and Gregory Koster does the hard work of updating the chart. I'm just kind of the go-between.
